1. Do you think you have a unique style?
• A unique style, no—a style based on mood, definitely. 

2. If yes, what's unique about it?
• Having a style that is based on mood best defines me, simply because I wear anything based on how I feel. I know how to dress it up or how to have a cargo and flip-flops kind of day.

3. Describe your style.
• My style after much consideration could best be described as ‘Modern Relaxed.’ I try to keep up to date with the latest trends and clothes—but not to copy what everyone else is wearing. I hate looking for bargains and long lines—I don’t mind paying that extra $ to get in and out of a store with exactly what I want. Why look around when you can get the real thing…right? Well, that’s me. (fans off the computer lol)

4. What would you wear on a casual day vs. a party?
• On a casual day, you can almost always find me in a v-neck from Gap or Banana with khaki or dark washed Jeans. I like the khaki jeans because you can dress up or dress down. To a party I will more likely have on either slacks with a blazer and buttoned down shirt, no tie. Or a Banana/Brooks Brothers blazer with jeans and loafers. 

5. What 5 items of clothing are a must have for you if you were stuck on an island and why?
• If I were stuck on an island and had to have 5 pieces of clothing…only. I would need: khaki pants, cargo shorts, orange v-neck, flip-flops and shades. 

6. What do you like to see the opposite sex wear?
• It’s appealing to my eye when girls wear blazers, shorts and heels…nothing underneath the blazer, have it buttoned with a bra…you get what I’m saying-and the red bottom shoes, I mean…It aint trickin’ if you got it, right? Have you seen that style around? Bring it back, bring it back…ayeee. Okay. (lol...dying laughing while secretly jammin')

 7. Do you look to anyone for style inspiration? If yes, who and why?
• No. I can’t say that I’ve been inspired by anyone for my style. I do go through catalogs monthly from Fossil, Michael Kors, Gap and Banana Republic. I then use a few of those ideas to determine a specific outfit or ‘mood change’.

8. What is your favorite store to shop at and why?
• If you know me, then you know I just can’t choose ONE store. I am a compulsive shopper, and I have come to terms with that. So, please don’t take anything I say to heart-I turn into @PHirstClaZZ when it comes to clothes and spending money. My top two stores would have to be Brooks Brothers and Carolina Herrera. Give me 5 grand and I promise it won’t be enough. (o_O we wish we had money like that...working on it though ;)

9. Do you think a lot of money is essential when it comes to style? why or why not?
• When it comes to style, in this day and age, ‘a lot of money’ is not a requirement. However, (don’t you just hate that)…for me, I will not shop for or buy anything if I know someone else on campus or close by will be wearing the same thing. Therefore, I tend to do my shopping either in Canada, Grand Cayman or Miami-so in short, money is essential if you want to have your thing and not be compared to anyone else. Or what I like to do is buy my clothing for full price at the Oklahoma Malls when they first hit shelves…wear it for a while then others will start wearing it a month or two later when I’ve already put it up. 

10. How do you feel about being selected to be on Vintage Mahogani 's Feature Friday ?
• I had tons of fun and am awaiting the Winter blogs. You guys are off to an amazing start! Keep it going. I had fun on the shoot and with the interview. Don’t take anything I have said to heart—I’m all about having fun, laughing and being carefree, the alter ego PHirstClaZZ might seem a bit non-chalant and snappy, but he means well. Have a blessed PHriday!

Men's Tip: Fedora Hats

This week we're going to look into how to wear the fedora hat. If you checked out last weeks post, we posted a picture in there of Bruno Mars with a fedora on. He inspired us sooo much that we decided to contribute a whole week to fedoras. So continue reading to get some tips on how to rock your fedoras!

First off, we're going to take a look at two casual looks, and what all you can do to recreate them. If you look over to the right, Bruno has on a graphic v-neck tee, khaki colored dress pants, Jack Purcell's, some stripped suspenders, and a red fedora. The red fedora really made this outfit pop! He easily could of went with a woven fedora with this outfit, but the red one really takes this outfit to the next level. 

For yourself, how about trying some woven pants like these, with a shirt such as this? It's very similar to what Bruno has on, but yet it's a little different. For the *hat, give this one a try and for shoes; just like Bruno did some Jack Purcell's will look great! Just remember that when it comes to wearing brightly colored accessories with outfits, try to keep the rest of the outfit monochromatic (one colored). That way that hat(or any accessory) will really stand out!

*Just like Bruno's this hat is solid colored, depending on the outfit you wear it with it can really bring it all together nicely!

Let's move on to our second casual look. For this look, Bruno went with a white v-neck tee, a fitted jean jacket, some grey jeans, and a basket woven fedora. For shoes it looks like he went with some...... shoes. lol no really they're called Moncler shoes, they're rather pricey and would run you about $350 o_O..thus our reasoning behind giving you some other options below.

sidenote: As you can see, the celebrity men love their jean jackets. If you check out these previous post (1 & two) you can see that it's something that they live by. 

Bruno kept it rather simple with this outfit and the hat added to the simplicity. If he wanted to do that same red fedora worn in the first picture, it would work great just because the rest of his outfit is toned down. This is an outfit that you could throw on to run some errands or show up to an event in. That hat just gives the outfit an edge up on the casual look; therefore making it acceptable for multiple occasions.
So to make this one your own, pull out one of your white v-necks and throw on some colored pants. If you don't have any, some faded blue jeans or khakis will be fine. Any type of low top laced shoes will be great! Don't have a jean jacket? You could throw on a button up flannel shirt or any fitted button up for that matter. Just wear it open and cuff up your sleeves. Dig out a fedora, and you're on your way.
Sn: Sometimes you just have to improvise for the items that you do not have, for this outfit it's pretty simple to make up for some items that you may not have.

Our last tip, is going to be on how to wear your fedora with more of a dressed up type of outfit...

Bruno has on this classic fedora along with a rather snazzy outfit. He went with a faded yellow button up with a light knit cardigan. (Check out this post on how to wear your cardigans/sweaters) He has on navy blue dress pants and oxford shoes. His accessories include a red wrist watch and a grey tie. Once again, this outfit would work just fine on it's own; however once the hat is a factor it makes the outfit look that much more classic!

If you wanted to do something similar, you might put on a lightly colored button up shirt with a cardigan on top. For pants, you could put on just about any dark colored dress pants.
SN: if the occasion is not too formal  you could do some dark colored jeans if you like.
As far as shoes go, we encourage you to step out of the box and try some oxfords. They can really add some character to any outfit! Don't forget your tie and fedora to top the outfit off!

This week we decided to give you some tips on a common accessorise for men. Perhaps you can take something from this post and incorporate it into your own wardrobe somehow! ;)

Tips Tuesdays: Fedora Hats!

    This week's tip is going to be over how to wear a Fedora hat, casually and dressy of course. I know we've all seen them worn by celebrities and just normal people like you and I. We're getting style inspiration from  blog favorite, Rihanna. Throughout the post, you'll be observing what she puts with her different fedora hats and how versatile they really are!



Look 1: Casual Fedora Look

    In the picture to the right Rihanna is seen wearing her fedora hat with a cow print screen tee, denim high waisted shorts, a taupe sweater wrap, and oxford shoes. As far as accessories she kept it simple. Even though she has on both a necklace and earrings, both are simple as far as "gaudiness"; the earrings are big, but the necklace is simple. This look would be considered casual, and could be worn to the mall or just a simple lunch with friends. You could even wear this on campus. We know summer is almost here and it's hot outside, so we will help you recreate the outfit to cater to the weather! :-)

    Let's start with this Basketweave Fedora with Trim in the natural color from Forever21. You could pair it with this White and Black Cropped Peace Tee and Classic Cuffed Denim Shorts. For shoes you can do these pair of Grey Leatherette Wingtip Shoes. As far as accessories go, keep it simple with these Gold Twisted Hoop Earrings. Do this Gold and Multi-Colored Umbrella Charm Necklace and Gold and Coral Oval Shield Ring to give the outfit a simple pop of color.

   
     If you wanted to make the outfit pop in the form of clothing instead of accessories you could this pair of Red, Frayed Denim Shorts. For accessories do this Silver Hinge Feather Pendant Necklace, Silver Layered Hoop Earrings, and Silver Bangles. Keep the same shoes and you're on your way!

    Here Rihanna is (to the right) in another casual outfit with her fedora hat. She is wearing a printed romper with jeweled sandals and few accessories (studs, sunglasses and bracelets).

    To achieve this simple look you could start with this Bronze/Black Basketweave Fedora also from Forever21. For a romper just do this Black Basic Tube Top Romper and pair it with these sandals 1 , 2 (or if you're feeling "fancy"): 3. Keep it simple with your accessories but also have fun with them. We suggest you do these Black Flower Stud Earrings out of the studs set and Wild Side Animal Print Bangles.

     If you wanted to do a dressier version of this outfit you could do this Black Lace Racerback Jumper with a pair of these Black Floral Lace Heels to keep the lace theme. For accessories, pair this Black/Gold Snap Button Braided Bracelet  with a pair of Gold Chain Link Hoop Earrings.


Look 2: Dressy Fedora Look

    For the dressy fedora look, we're taking inspiration from this outfit of hers with a printed bustier/corset type top tucked into a pair of cream and black polka dot shorts. For shoes, you can see she paired her outfit with nude, studded Louboutins (apparently she was feeling fancy..lol). As far as accessories go she has on gold doorknocker earrings and layered gold bangles. We're going to tell you how to get a similar look that you can be comfortable in as far as prints but we'll throw some pieces in there for you to wear if want to be "expressive" with your outfit that day! :-)

    Start out with this Tan Basketweave Fedora with Floral trim  (seen worn by MBOU Candace Jordan )from Forever21. You can pair it with this Purple Ruched Chiffon Corset Top from Charlotte Russe. For bottoms you can do these Flared Floral Shorts or if you're feeling "expressive" ..lol...like we said, you can do this pair of Peach/Nude Tiered Lace Shorts. As far as shoes, both pair of shorts would look great with a pair of nude heels, whether they're Strappy, Peep Toe , or a Regular Pump! For accessories, go ahead and do like rihanna with a Large Pair of Gold Earrings and layer bangle set 1 and 2!

Memorial Day Weekend Tips for Men!

We're sure you all realized that this week we're going to discuss a few tips for the men for Memorial Day Weekend. Just like the post for the ladies, we're going to list of 10 must have items during your weekend. (Considering that we listed the vital items(sunscreen,sunglasses,etc.) yesterday for the ladies, we're going to give you a list of clothing items) Here we have, in no particular order, our suggestions of 10 must have clothing items for your weekend.

He has on a graphic tank; which would go great with cargos!

1. A White V-Neck T-shirt (can be worn with multiple outfits)

2.Some Cargo Shorts 

3.Graphic Tank

4.Dark Wash Jeans

5. Light Knit Cardigan (keep it light, no need for winter sweaters here)

6. Flannel Button-Up

7. Woven Fedora

8.Boat Shoes 

9. Sandals

10. Swim Trunks

As you can see you can keep it pretty simple when it comes to packing for your trip. Making sure you have at least these 10 items you should be set for the entire weekend, as well as having a bunch of options to choose from.

Now let’s get into what you can do with all of these different items!

-For a simple look, we suggest that you wear some cargo shorts along with a white v-neck! For shoes you can either wear some boat shoes, or sandals.   -- -Depending on what the weather is during the weekend you may be able to throw on either the cardigan with this look or the flannel button-up. The idea is to just keep it as simple as possible, that's why we gave you a list of such simple pieces. 

-An idea for a another simple yet casual outfit, would be to put on the graphic tank, along with the dark denim jeans, throw on the sandals and your ready for a nice poolside barbecue! To jazz it up a little, so it's not too casual you can put on the fedora and call it a day. -Now, if you were wanting to go for something a little more dressed up you could throw on the dark denim jeans with the flannel button-up..roll up the sleeves (like this) and throw on the boat shoes. To top this look off put on a fedora and you're ready to go!

We suggest that as far as accessories go with these outfits you should keep it rather simple. Accessories such as a beaded bracelet or a long charm necklace.

And as far as the swim trunks go, you can throw those on, as needed!
