Look for Less: Glam/Celeb

Okay ladies, we all know that we feel our finest when we are dressed up and on point from head to toe. It seems as though celebrities are on point the majority of the time that we see them and always look so glammed up and wear the most expensive items. Today we are going to show you a few glamorous looks from celebrities like stars from the Basketball Wives, Beyonce, and Kourtney Kardashian. Then we will tell you how to get similar looks to show you that you don't have to spend a lot of money to look like you did!

Look Number 1 comes from none other than Jennifer, from the show Basketball Wives. Somehow she always looks glammed up and we know she spends a lot on her clothing and shoes, but we're going to tell you how to get a look similar to hers for less.

As seen to the left, Jenn has on a blue, sort of off-the-shoulder dress with ruching. She kept is simple for accessories a pair of long, gold earrings, a bangle, and clutch. For shoes, she just did a pair of taupe pumps. She kept it on the simple, sleek side with her hair as well.
To get a similar look to Jenn's start out with this Red Ruched Strapless Dress and pair it with these something similar to these Smoke Leopard Heels. As far as accessories, keep it simple like Jenn did and try a pair of these Gold Tiered Diamond Earrings and just this Gold and Black Bangle Set . For hair keep it sleek and simple and do something like she did.
When you keep your hair simple, try to do a smokey eye with this outfit and somewhat of a nude-lip, especially since the dress is red. This will give it somewhat of an expensive look because you're keeping it sleek which makes one instantly think of glamour.
You don't want to overshadow your outfit or cheapen it by doing too much with your hair and/or makeup. So like we suggest, keep it simple. This look can be great for a dinner date, a night out on the town with the girls, and/or a special occasion event.

Look number 2 of course, comes from Beyonce, the queen of fabulousness! As seen to the right, Bey is seen wearing a white, puff shoulder blazer, with a plain white tee, and jeggings (jean like leggings). For shoes, she put on some sequined, silver peep toe heels. As far as accessories, she just did a pair of large silver hoops and pulled her hair back in a ponytail. The outfit may not sound glamorous, but Beyonce definitely made it glamorous and look expensive which we know it is. (Only Bey! Lol)
To get a look similar to Beyonce's start out with a plain tee, like this Orange Basic Heathered V-Neck Tee since it's a summertime color. For a blazer, try this White Linen Blend Jacket and for bottoms you can do a pair of dark denim jeans like this pair of Fab Skinny Black Jeans . For shoes, stand out amongst the rest with a pair of printed shoes like these Cheetah Print Oxfords to do something different besides heels.
As far as accessories, keep it simple with a pair of hoops like these --->> Textured Hoop Earrings. For your hair you can keep it simple like Bey did and do a sleek ponytail or wear it down with a few curls in it, since the outfit is rather simple. Don't over-do it with your makeup, try eyeliner and mascara and do a bold lip color in a that looks best for your skin tone.

Last but not least, look 3 comes from blog favorite Kourtney Kardashian! We can honestly say, she is amongst few celebrities with great fashion sense that makes you want every outfit she has on. Kourtney is seen to the left wearing grey and taupe printed shorts, a cream puff-sleeve blouse tucked in, and taupe sandal wedges. For accessories, she did a rather chunky necklace but wore simple studs or none at all and did a simple gold bangle. The sunglasses made the outfit look more "exclusive".
To get a similar glamorous shorts look, start with this pair of Light Olive Linen Blend Shorts. Since the bottoms aren't printed, you could do something similar to this Brown/Black Tribal Printed Tank. For accessories, try the same gold hoops in Beyonce's tip above a simple gold bangle like so ----> Wild Safari Bangle. As far as shoes, try this pair of Black Multi-Strap High Heel Sandals to tie the look together.
If you did want to do a chunky necklace, try this Ombre Racerback Tank and pair it with this Coral/Gold Faceted Collar Necklace. If want to do earrings keep it simple pair of studs and do a pair of cream pumps/heels like so ---> Khaki/Beige Wedges!
Her hairstyle is a great summertime hairstyle and it look like she kept her make-up simple as well. Great daytime look that can be worn for a party at night as well!

Your demeanor can also determine if you look as if everything you own is expensive. Make sure you wear your hair simple if you're make-up and outfit are rather busy or vice-versa, but don't over-do it. We hope that we gave you some helpful insight on how to look glamorous with spending a lot of money. So now you can go out and buy some items and rock them confidently and glamorously!

Swimsuits!!

Well ladies...judging from the title of the post, you can see that today's post will be about swimsuits. What about swimsuits you ask...well we thought we make this post as useful as possible and make it over the right swimsuit for your body type. We know it's hot outside and the 4th of July is coming up...so this is the perfect time to do this post so it'll give you time to purchase a swimsuit or two! So sit back, relax, take notes, and go out and buy your perfect swimsuit!

Body Type 1: Small on the top

If you are small on the top...meaning small cup size.. you can do one of these swimsuit top styles:
  •  A swimsuit top with fringe or ruffles. Fringe and ruffles with give the illusion that you have something up top.
  • A swimsuit top with a touch of padding. Maybe try one that is printed so it can take away from the look of padding.
  • A swimsuit top with under-wire or a banded bottom to give you a lift to add cleavage.
  • A swimsuit top with adjustable straps at the shoulders and or/ around the neck. You can adjust them to lift things up and add cleavage as well.
  • A bandeau top will look great as well since you have a small bust.. Find one with a little padding and a print.
Here are some swimsuit links :

Body Type 2: Full up Top

  • An under-wire swimsuit top. These tops give you support and lift just like a bra.
  • A swimsuit top with a banded halter. These type of tops give you support and coverage and can be less obvious than under-wire.
  • A thick strap halter swim top. These tops secure your chest. Thin string/straps can accentuate your top in an unflattering way, almost as if you're popping out.
  • A V-Neck One piece. These swimsuits accentuate your top half because they show off the right amount of cleavage versus covering them up and making you look really top heavy.
Here are some swimsuit links for your type of suggested swimsuits:

One-Piece Halter Swimsuit <---- Self-Tie Halter to tighten or loosen for support. V-Neck to provide cleavage.
Push-Up Banded Halter and Matching Bottoms <---- Removable padding so you wont add more up top. The banded halter is wide for added support.
Push-Up Bandeau Top and Bottoms <---- Removable padding. Under-wire to provide support.

Body Type 3: A Bit of a Tummy

  • One-Piece swimsuits with ruching are great! The ruching  camouflages whatever you have to hide and the detailing takes away from it.
  • Belted One-Piece. A belted one-piece will cinch the waist and creates a the illusion of an hourglass figure.
  •  If you want to do a two-piece swimsuit, try a tankini. The top will hide whatever you want. Make sure it's not too short or too tight because that could be unflattering.
  • Black. Black can be slimming. So try a tankini in black or a one-piece in black. With some embellishing up top to take away from the mid-section.
  • Bold florals and prints take attention away from the mid-section.
  • Vertical and diagonal stripes are best. They elongate your figure. Stay away from horizontal stripes because they can make you look wide.
Here are some suggested swimsuits:

Push -Up Halter Tankini and Bottom <---- Come in black. Tankini to cover-up mid-section. Back Detailing to take away from front.
Zebra Print Tankini <---- Bold print. Contrasted Empire Waistband to cinch in the waist.
Ruched One-Piece <---- Ruching  camouflages whatever you would like to hide and takes away from it as well.

Body Type 4: Big Bottom

  • A swimsuit with a plunging neckline. This type of one-piece will bring attention up top and balance you out.
  • A swimsuit with a darker bottom and lighter top. The darker bottom will give you a slimming effect and the lighter top will bring attention up top.
  • A Low-Cut bottom. This type of bottom can slim you down a bit versus a high-rise bottom that can ride up and give you wedgie.
  • Avoid boy shorts. The can make your bottom look bigger.
Here are some links to suggested swimsuits:

Wireless Push-Up Monokini <---- One-Piece with a plunging neckline. Jewel Trim at hips, kind of low-rise to slim the bottom.
Low-Rise Bottom and Top <---- Low-Rise to slim the bottom and you an mix the top and bottom to do a darker bottom and lighter top.
Cut-Out Ruffle Monokini <---- Plunging neckline and ruffle detailing up top to take attention from bottom. Low-rise bottom to also slim you.

Body Type 5: Lean Figure

Few things are off limits for people with lean figures. Anything goes to accentuate your lean figure or give you curves.

  • Swimsuits with horizontal stripes can make you look wider if you want to add some curves.
  • Boy-Shorts bottoms. These bottoms can make you look like you have somewhat of a booty.
  • Light colors and small prints. Since you're lean/petite you want dainty prints and colors so you are not "over-powered".
  • Ruffles and Fringe/Frills will add more volume up top, bottom, or both wherever that detailing is.
  • Regular string bikinis. These look great since you are so lean if you you want to show it off.
Here are some suggested swimsuits:

We hope that we gave you some helpful insight on swimsuits for your specific body type. If we left any out that you were wondering about, let us know and we'll inbox you information and suggestions!! :-)

Summer Essential Tips: Special Edition

For today's post, we decided to do a special edition post for summer essentials. About 2 weeks ago, one of out supporters/followers gave us the suggestion to do a tip for all the fearless, expecting women out there. So that's just what this post will be about! For the past 2 weeks we've been giving the ladies and men tips over summer essentials. Week one was over summer dresses for the ladies and this week was over shorts for both.  For this post, we're going to give you tips and outfit suggestions on both! So sit back, relax, and enjoy! :-)

Tip 1: Dresses

Now who said being pregnant couldn't be glamorous? Dresses are one of many things that can be worn casually and dressy while one is expecting. First we're going to start out will a picture and look from Nicole Richie.

Seen to the right, Nicole Richie has on a plain black dress with a printed, sheer shawl, and black strappy heels. For accessories, she just went with a long, gold necklace and a ring on her right hand. This dress can be worn both casually and on the dressy like like Nicole did. Start with this Black Sleeveless Twist Neck Detail Dress from Motherhood. You could wear this with no cover-up since it's hot, or if there is a nice breeze outside and you get a little chilly, try this Denim Jacket and roll the sleeves up. Because the denim jacket is so versatile, you can wear this outfit with either these Black Multi-Strap Cuffed Sandals for a casual look or these Black Nautical Knotted Wedges to dress it up. For accessories, give the outfit a pop of color with this Turquoise/Brown Spirited Boho Necklace,  Turquoise Heart Studs, and Coral/Gold Cracked Stone Ring. If you wanted to do a longer black dress here is the longer black dress for more of a nighttime look, try this Black Spaghetti Strap Maxi Dress.

If you want to do a dress with some color in it, try this Fuchsia Wide Strap Dress from Old Navy-Maternity. For shoes do these Baja Woven Multi-Color Sandals. For accessories, keep it simple since there's already some color going on with these Gold Textured Hoop Earrings and just this Gold 4 Finger Knuckle Ring. To take this casual dress on a more dressy side, do these Royal Blue Pumps if you're feeling fancy and keep the same accessories.

Tip #2: Shorts

We couldn't really find any picture of pregnant celebrities in shorts, but we did find a casual outfit of a pregnant Halle Berry in denim jeans. We will show you how to recreate the outfit to cater to the weather and of course how to wear it casually, dressy, and switch the type of shorts.

As seen to the left, Halle has on a black blazer, a plain v-neck tee, and a pair of jeans. For shoes she had on a pair of grey boots. It obviously had to be fall time or spring due to all the layers, but we can tell you how to make this a summer outfit. Start with these Denim Cuff Shorts or if you wanted to do a longer pair, try these Cuffed Denim Capris. For the top you could do this V-Neck Tee in the Deep Taupe color. For shoes, try this pair of Gold Sandals and accessories do this Leopard Details Bangle Set with the Turquoise Heart Studs and Turquoise/Brown Boho Feather necklace in the tip above for dresses. If you wanted to dress the denim shorts up do the same tee in the wispy mauve color, this pair of Tan Wide T-Strap Wedges, and this Tan Button Blazer  from Emommie and cuff the sleeves. For accessories, just do a pair of Large Gold Hoops with that Leopard Details Bangle Set.

If you wanted to do a pair of cargo shorts, try these Khaki Cargos and the same tee from Gap-Maternity but in White. For shoes, keep it casual with a pair of sandals, yet make the outfit pop with this pair of Bright Royal Blue Sandals. For accessories, do this pair of Silver LOVE studs and this Silver/Pink Girl Charm Necklace and you're all set!

We hope that we gave you a few tips you can use throughout this post and we really enjoy researching and writing it. Thanks Jumesha for the suggestion! Everyone else, don't be shy. Let us know what you want to see! :-)

Summer Essential#2 for the ladies: Shorts

Last week we gave you summer essential #1, the summer dress, an extremely versatile and ESSENTIAL piece of clothing for the summer. This week, we're giving you summer essential #2 , shorts! Shorts are probably the most versatile piece of clothing one could own. We will be giving you tips on the different ways you can wear them and how to get the celebrity look but make it your own.

Tip 1: Denim Shorts

Out of all the looks we will show you, this one will probably be the easiest and cheapest to achieve, but it will still be very fashionable. Denim shorts are also the most versatile of all the shorts we will show you in today's post. They can be dressed up and down with ease with a quick change of casual shoes to a pair of heels!

To the left, Ciara is seen wearing a pair of cuffed denim shorts and a graphic, white v-neck tee. For shoes and accessories she did a pair of black lace-up combat boots, a silver necklace, and a few silver bangles. A very casual, yet stylish outfit that is easy and fast to achieve if you need to get dressed quickly.
You can still recreate this outfit if you don't have the same exact pieces, which we recommend anyway to kind of make it your own.
Start out with a pair of these Denim Black Fab Classic Cuffed Denim Shorts for only $10.50 from our favorite store, Forever 21. Then, you could do this Marvel Comics Striped Tank and layer a cami or tank underneath of a color that's not in the shirt to make it pop, like this Fab Knit Cami in Green . For shoes and accessories, try a pair of lace-ups similar to these Black Comrade Lace Up Combat Boots and keep it simple with just a pair of hoops and a bangle like these Large Gold Hoops and this Gold and Black Bamboo Bracelet.
To take this outfit on the dressy casual side, lose the green cami and layer the comics tank under this Short Sleeve Slub Knit Cardigan in Green. You can do the same cuffed shorts, but try them in the indigo color. For accessories, do these Turquoise Heart of Stone Studs and Brown/Gold Leopard Details Bangle Set for a pop of color and pattern. As far as shoes, just do a pair of simple pumps something similar to these Brown Faux Wood Platform Pumps.

Tip 2: Cargo Shorts

Cargo shorts are also really versatile too. They can be dressed down with a simple tank or graphic tee and sandals or dressed up with a chiffon- like material peasant top and a pair of pumps. In the picture above, LC  has on a cream, sheer peasant top with a camisole layered underneath and green/olive linen-cargo type shorts. This outfit would be great on a date or just a shopping trip with the girls.
A way you could recreate the outfit casually would be to start out with these Brown Drawstring Cargo Shorts from Charlotte Russe. Pair it with this Oatmeal Color Basic Racerback Tank and pair of these Gold Braided Thong Sandals. For accessories, you could this Gold/Turquoise/Brown Spirited Boho Necklace with the pair of Turquoise Heart of Stone Studs and Brown/Gold Leopard Details Bangle Set listed above.
To dress the cargo shorts up, try the same shorts in Olive and tuck in this Coral/White Edgy Stripes Top but let it relax over the drawstring; also, layer a tan camisole underneath since the shirt is a little thin. For shoes, do something similar to these Cognac/Brown Multi Buckle Strap Sandal Heels. As for accessories, do a pair of gold hoops like these Large Gold Hoops that were listed above in the first tip with this Tribal Swirls Bangle Set.

Tip 3: Dressy Shorts

Last but certainly not least, tip 3 comes from Queen B herself. She is seen in somewhat of a dressy outfit with silk-blend type shorts, an off the shoulder sweater top, and strappy pumps. For accessories, she layered multiple necklaces and then just did a simple watch.
To recreate this outfit, try it differently by starting with these Silk Self-Tie Tribal Shorts for print on bottom. For a blouse, do this White Woven Peasant Top with a Basic Camisole layered underneath in Jade to add a pop of color. For shoes do something similar to these Nude Color Block Pumps to add another pop of color while staying in the neutral color palette. For accessories, try the same simple Large Gold Hoops with this Brown/Gold Dainty Spring Bangle Set
If you want to do a pair of plain dressy shorts and print on top, you could do these Grey Crepe Tie Front Shorts from Agaci with this Black/Hot Pink Tribal Stripes Contrast Tank. For shoes and accessories you could do this pair of Black Color Block Pumps with these Silver Layered Hoop Earrings and Silver Textured Bangles.

As we said and you can see, shorts are very versatile and come in all different prints, materials, and lengths. We hope we gave you some helpful insight on something that you didn't already know and gave you some outfit ideas to look fashionable while keeping cool!

Tips Tuesdays: Fedora Hats!

This week's tip is going to be over how to wear a Fedora hat, casually and dressy of course. I know we've all seen them worn by celebrities and just normal people like you and I. We're getting style inspiration from  blog favorite, Rihanna. Throughout the post, you'll be observing what she puts with her different fedora hats and how versatile they really are!

Look 1: Casual Fedora Look

In the picture to the right Rihanna is seen wearing her fedora hat with a cow print screen tee, denim high waisted shorts, a taupe sweater wrap, and oxford shoes. As far as accessories she kept it simple. Even though she has on both a necklace and earrings, both are simple as far as "gaudiness"; the earrings are big, but the necklace is simple. This look would be considered casual, and could be worn to the mall or just a simple lunch with friends. You could even wear this on campus. We know summer is almost here and it's hot outside, so we will help you recreate the outfit to cater to the weather! :-)

Let's start with this Basketweave Fedora with Trim in the natural color from Forever21. You could pair it with this White and Black Cropped Peace Tee and Classic Cuffed Denim Shorts. For shoes you can do these pair of Grey Leatherette Wingtip Shoes. As far as accessories go, keep it simple with these Gold Twisted Hoop Earrings. Do this Gold and Multi-Colored Umbrella Charm Necklace and Gold and Coral Oval Shield Ring to give the outfit a simple pop of color.

If you wanted to make the outfit pop in the form of clothing instead of accessories you could this pair of Red, Frayed Denim Shorts. For accessories do this Silver Hinge Feather Pendant Necklace, Silver Layered Hoop Earrings, and Silver Bangles. Keep the same shoes and you're on your way!

Here Rihanna is (to the right) in another casual outfit with her fedora hat. She is wearing a printed romper with jeweled sandals and few accessories (studs, sunglasses and bracelets).

To achieve this simple look you could start with this Bronze/Black Basketweave Fedora also from Forever21. For a romper just do this Black Basic Tube Top Romper and pair it with these sandals 1 , 2 (or if you're feeling "fancy"): 3. Keep it simple with your accessories but also have fun with them. We suggest you do these Black Flower Stud Earrings out of the studs set and Wild Side Animal Print Bangles.

If you wanted to do a dressier version of this outfit you could do this Black Lace Racerback Jumper with a pair of these Black Floral Lace Heels to keep the lace theme. For accessories, pair this Black/Gold Snap Button Braided Bracelet  with a pair of Gold Chain Link Hoop Earrings.

Look 2: Dressy Fedora Look

For the dressy fedora look, we're taking inspiration from this outfit of hers with a printed bustier/corset type top tucked into a pair of cream and black polka dot shorts. For shoes, you can see she paired her outfit with nude, studded Louboutins (apparently she was feeling fancy..lol). As far as accessories go she has on gold doorknocker earrings and layered gold bangles. We're going to tell you how to get a similar look that you can be comfortable in as far as prints but we'll throw some pieces in there for you to wear if want to be "expressive" with your outfit that day! :-)

Start out with this Tan Basketweave Fedora with Floral trim  (seen worn by MBOU Candace Jordan )from Forever21. You can pair it with this Purple Ruched Chiffon Corset Top from Charlotte Russe. For bottoms you can do these Flared Floral Shorts or if you're feeling "expressive" ..lol...like we said, you can do this pair of Peach/Nude Tiered Lace Shorts. As far as shoes, both pair of shorts would look great with a pair of nude heels, whether they're Strappy, Peep Toe , or a Regular Pump! For accessories, go ahead and do like rihanna with a Large Pair of Gold Earrings and layer bangle set 1 and 2!

Hopefully we gave you some helpful tips on all the different ways you can wear your fedora hats and we hope to see you rocking similar outfits to the ones we've advised you on! :-)
