Coral Craze: Men's Edition.

Just as we did with the ladies this week, we are going to look into some coral looks for you fellas. As we stated yesterday coral comes in many different shades and it is up to you which shade you want to go with.

Coral ranges from a pink to a red, to a orange color, as seen in the photo to the left. Along with these shades, there are also brightened ones and muted ones. All in all they all are apart of the coral shades.

First up we are going to look at Mr. Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. Considering the team that he plays for it is very fitting for him to wear a color such as coral. (Miami is known for being very vibrant and upbeat when it comes to fashion). For this photo, he was styled in a coral colored suit; the blazer is fitted with raised sleeves, while the pants of this suit are loose fitting and could very well be a pair of shorts. The stylist paired this suit look with a white tee, and some bronze colored necklaces. We are not so sure on the shoes but we think that a pair of lace-up boots would go amazing with this look.

Now we searched and searched and the only suit that we could find in a coral color was close to $500 from Saks Fifth Avenue ( $300 just for the blazer). So our solution to this is that if you desire to have a coral blazer is to check your local thrift store. They normally carry rare colors of blazers for great prices.

For a similar look, we suggest that you start with a light knit coral vest cardigan and place a white graphic tank underneath. For pants we suggest that you go with a khaki pant or short depending on what the weather is feeling like that day. For shoes we suggest that you go with a sneaker or even a sandal; make sure you get that pedicure. =) To add to the look, throw on a few necklaces to really play into Dwyane's look.

There you have it similar to this look, but still very casual and perfect for the summer time.

Next, moving to some coral on the bottom half of your body. Here we have a man in some cut-off coral shorts, black hooded knit sweater, and a button up light blue shirt. For shoes he kept it casual with a pair of blue keds or vans. What we can say about this look is that it is very casual and it would not take much to revamp this look into your own.
Start with either a short or coral pant. Again, depending on the weather that day you decide if you want to go with a short/pant. Next take a pin-striped button-up shirt, giving you a similar vibe to this look. For shoes try out some tan loafers, keeping your look dressy-casual. Finally we suggest that you throw on a jean jacket to give this outfit a little flare.

Obviously so, we gave you some different pieces to thrown in for this look. This shows you that you can take a little from a look and make it your own by switching some pieces out. Such as the hooded sweater for the jean jacket, for the warmer months.

Our final look is from Usher. He is seen in a very casual look here and we just wanted to show that coral can be worn in just about any look. He has on a neon coral v-neck with a flannel over top. He has on some dark jeans with, a red shoe to coordinate back to the flannel.

We searched around for you for a few different tops in a coral that you can pair with just about any bottom. Just remember to keep your look simple when starting out with a new color/print and you can go no wrong.

Coral will continue to be a big hit this summer, and we suggest that you give it a try. Whether it is a shirt, blazer, or pant; we think that if you follow the outfit ideas that we gave you, you'll look spectacular. Till next week, fellas!

Coral Craze: Ladies Edition.

This week we are diving into the coral craze. Recently we have seen an influx of coral being worn and sold in stores, so why not make a post about the color. Now coral is one of those colors that have different tones and ranges. This goes from a very muted to a bright neon coral, and the color can be more on a pink, red, or orange tone. It is all a matter of what type of look you are going for and what you feel most comfortable in. Continue reading to get some inspiration!

First up is this cut-out dress from Rihanna. As you can see her coral is more on the muted scale and it goes quite well with her vibrant hair. It makes sense for her to go with more of a muted tone because a brighter coral would compete with her hair. This dress is very form fitting and the cut-out is something that is popular currently as well. She kept the rest of her look really, really simple with a gold chain necklace and wrist watch. To complement the look she went with a nude pointed shoe.

If you want you could purchase the exact same dress, which we found to be close to $400! But something more affordable would be this dress here. It has a similar color, cut-out sides, and the buttons in the front; along with those it is the perfect light weight material and fit for the summer. To make your look complete we suggest that you go with either a nude or leopard shoe. As well as a nice gold wrist watch, necklace, and stud earrings. If you want to add some color to this look we suggest going with a green or turquoise, which could be incorporated through accessories. There you have it something very similar to what Rih-Rih has on but yet still your own look.

Next up, we are going to look at a causal look given to us by Mrs. Lala Anthony. Her pants are where the coral color comes in, allowing us to see the orangey side of coral. She paired her pants with a graphic white tank from H&M, which really gives the pants the opportunity to stand out for this look. For shoes she went with an animal print heel, giving the look a little print. To top this look off she went with silver accessories. Like Rihanna this look is very simple, and not hard to replicate. The simplicity of the look allows the pants to really be that statement piece for the outfit and not get lost within the look.

Start out with these jeans to keep close to Lala's look. Put on either a white tank, or even a tank with a little color in it to keep the look vibrant. For shoes we suggest that you try a tribal print wedge or even a pair of chucks to make the look more casual. For accessories you could keep it similar to Lala with silver hoops, bangles, and rings

Our final look is from Kim Kardashian. She is giving us the red side of coral, as you can see it is more of the brighter of the tones. She wore a pair of high-waisted, flare-legged trousers in a nude color. The color of the pants allows the shirt to be the statement piece for this look. Keeping with muted colors, she carried a camel colored bag, and nude heels. It looks like she has on a pair of silver or gold hoops, and large sunglasses. All of which comes together to make an amazing look.

Well there you all have it, we went in depth with 3 different looks allowing you to see how to wear the color coral. We hope that you found something that you can take with you when it comes to this color. Check out the looks below to see how many different shades that coral comes in.

Tribal Attack.

Vonnie is wearing a white graphic burnout tank, light wash distressed jean shorts, brown lace ups, and her TRIBAL PRINT belt! As you can see, she took a very simple approach to incorporating tribal print in her wardrobe, but it was enough to stand out.

Angie is wearing a tribal print fringe detailed top, orange knit skirt, black knee high socks, and black lace up boots. She took a more noticeable approach to incorporating tribal print in her wardrobe but kept the rest of the outfit simple with plain color pieces.

Aztec/Tribal Print for the Fellas!

Okay fellas...we hope you felt comfortable last week incorporating a bit of turquoise in your wardrobe bc/ this week, we're asking you to incorporate

this ---->

YES, AZTEC/TRIBAL PRINT into your wardrobe! It's not that far of a stretch really and we will tell you how to simply add in it! With that being said...let's get started!!

LOOK 1: "CASUAL TRIBAL"

If you notice the gentleman to the left ....you'll see that he has on a pretty casual outfit and has incorporated tribal print into it. With his Teal/Orange/Black tribal print hoodie, he paired some dark gray pants with it and cuffed the bottoms to show off his tribal print socks. To complete the outfit he did a pair of light gray sneakers, a few bracelets, and a black knit cap.

To get a similar look...try either this Navy Blue/Cream Zip Up Aztec Print Hoodie from ASOS or this Gray/Navy Baja/Tribal Print Pullover Hoodie from Urban Oufitters. Then you can simply throw on a plain white v-neck underneath either one. For pants...go with something like these Berry/Maroon Chino Pants and cuff them. Finish the outfit off with a pair of White Plimsoll Sneakers and you can even do a few of these green bead bracelets ...make sure to cuff your sleeves so the bracelets may be seen.

LOOK 2: "THE TRIBAL TANK/TEE"

Our next look comes from Ryan Gosling. He was seen grabbing lunch in a casual tribal print outfit. Underneath his Maroon cardigan, he paired what looks like a gray, tribal print t-shirt. For bottoms, he went with a pair of dark gray jeans and boots. He completed his look with a watch, simple necklace, and aviator sunglasses. We like this outfit, but we are going to tell you how to revamp it and make it 10 times better/more fashionable!

Start with this Oatmeal Based Aztec Print Tee and you can then go one of two routes: 1. Do this Royal Blue Cardigan, this pair of Tan Slim Fit Jeans [cuff them], and a pair of these Purple and Royal Blue Sneakers  -or- 2 Light Denim Jean Jacket Orange Chino Shorts, and these Light Brown Twill Sneakers

LOOK 3: "TRIBAL DRESS UP"

Okay look to the left and you'll notice the young gentleman's outfit to the left featuring a tribal print sweater. He put on a white button up underneath and did a pair of distressed black skinny jeans. Then he completed the look with some black sneakers and a silver chain link necklace. We really love this look and his style in general...[ we stalked his chictopia..lol ] He's pretty fly fellas and we love fly so maybe y'all should check out his looks at www.chictopia.com/Noire!

With that being said, start
with this Gray/White/Black Aztec Print Sweater from ASOS. Since it is spring/summer time we're going to cater this look to this specific weather so skip the button up underneath. For bottoms, we suggest these White Khaki Trousers since we are going for a dressy casual look with the tribal print. As far as shoes go, do something like these Light Grey Oxfords and top it off with a nice watch like so ----> Black G-Shock Watch or even this Black Will Leather Cuff!
TRIBAL PRINT SCARF. PAIR WITH A PLAIN WHITE
OR BLACK V-NECK AND JEANS!

Well fellas...that was all we have for today's post. We've posted a couple more items for inspiration to incorporate this print in your wardrobe! Feel free to leave any questions or comments you may have!

Tribal/Aztec Print Anyone?

Okay ladies...this week's post is going to give you some tips on how to incorporate tribal print into your spring and summer wardrobe...which is a great print for spring and summer time! With that being said...let's get into today's post!

Look 1: "Casual Kim"

Okay...so look 1 comes from Kim Kardashian. She's seen to the left giving us casual, yet stylish..in an Aztec/Tribal Print maxi dress paired with black, gladiator sandals. She didn't do many accessories seeing as though the dress is an all-over print so she kept it simple with a pair of sunglasses and black Chanel, cross-body purse.  This was perfect for what looks like a day of shopping for Kim. The dress is fashionable, yet comfortable which means it's easy to move around in ....perfect for a college student or a mom out running errands!

To replicate this look....while still making it your own.. start with this Black/White High-Low Tribal Print Dress and pair it with these  Black Sandals. SIMPLY accessorize the look with a pair of stud earrings and since this is just a plain black and white look, complete the outfit with this Neon Green Wrap Watch.

Moving on to look 2... "Mixing it Up"

Okay....if you take a look to the right, you'll see that Rihanna has mixed two different prints and it worked out just fine. She just paired her black and white tribal print crop tee with a pair of black and white, burnout striped jeans. As far as shoes and accessories go, she went with a pair of black strappy platforms, stud earrings, black necklace with chain detail, and a couple of bangles. She accessorized her outfit more than Kim did but it was still cohesive.

To get a look similar to Rihanna's...start with this Sheer Birch/Black Tribal Print Top and pair it with these Red Tie-Dye Jeans from Urban Outfitters. For shoes you can do something like this pair of Black Strappy Cut-Out Platform Pumps by Jessica Simpson and accessorize the rest of the outfit with a pair of stud earrings and this Black Leather Snap Cuff.

Now...if you wanted Tribal/Aztec print on bottom and simply more of a dressy look, start with this Cream/Black Midi-Length Southwest Print Skirt and pair it with something like this Sheer Black/Pink Polka Dot Blouse and just put on a black strapless or bandeau top underneath...for going out purposes. Do the same shoes, stud earrings, and snap cuff from the other outfit and you're all set!!

Last look.... "Young, Fresh, and Red Carpet Ready"

Our last look for the post, comes from actress "Fivel" Stewart. She is seen to the left wearing a white/black Tribal/Inca Print dress at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. She just paired the dress with a pair of plain black pumps and black/white bracelets. She completed her look through a P.O.C (pop of color) with an orange/coral clutch.

This look is very easy to achieve....but you'll still want to make it your own...so start with this West Indies Blue ZigZag Print Dress and do a pair of orange or coral shoes like this pair of Spiced Coral Pumps by Jessica Simpson. Complete your look by doing a Gold Cuff Bracelet and stud earrings.

Well ladies...that's all we have for today's post. We wanted to keep it short and simple yet give you a few cute/fun outfit ideas! Here's a few other ways you can incorporate tribal print in your spring/summer wardrobe below:

Motivational Monday

"You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water." -Rabindranath Tagore

We chose this quote because we believe it's a simple way of saying take action. You can't accomplish your dreams and goals without acting on them in some type of way or just standing still, expecting success to come to you, you have to take it. So be confident in your abilities, have faith, and take action towards your future!

Feature Friday: Brent.

This week's Feature Friday, comes from Mr. Brent C. We were able to catch up with him and get him featured here on the blog a second time and we must say that it was well worth the wait. All of the photos came out amazing, and having a model that was willing to do whatever that was asked complimented the shoot well. So take some time and really check out the photos below!

As you could see his first outfit was more of a dressy preppy look. He wore a button-up pink stripped tee, with a white dotted blue bow tie. He paired his top with a dark wash jean and tan Sperrys. Keeping with the preppy look, he threw on his RayBan's and it really pulled the look together.

His second look was more of a laid back look, still in the preppy arena but more on the casual side. Also, if you noticed he has on turquoise which goes along great with our theme this week. The simplicity of the white v-neck allow the color to really pop on the shorts. So fellas, continuing with the post from yesterday Brent would be a great person to grab ideas from when it comes to incorporating the color turquoise.

As you can see Brent was really able to express himself through his outfit selections. He was a great person to work with and really made the shoot a joy to do. He has amazing fashion sense and we can not wait to work with him again.

xoxo VM.
ps. thank you Brent the pictures turned out amazing!

Time for Turquoise: Men's Edition.

Well men we have reached the day for your post. Normally we post for you guys on Wednesdays, but we're changing it up just a little this week. So for future post, check on Wednesdays unless notified. Anyways....let's dive into some great ways of incorporating the color turquoise into your spring/summer wardrobe. Like the yellow we discussed [quite a few weeks ago] turquoise is a very bold color and you have to be up for the challenge to pull it off confidently. Continue reading to get some tips on how to do so.

First up, we want you guys to see that it is possible to pull off a turquoise blazer. Yes, we know that this is a model on a runway, however this look can easily be transferred to an "average joe" outfit.

Now, considering that this is going to be for a summer outfit it's smart to go with a lighter material blazer** or a light knit cardigan. To allow the color of the blazer to stand out we suggest going with a white v-neck underneath. Depending on the occasion either a nice pair of khakis or a dark wash jean would be perfect for your bottoms. Shoe wise you should go with something that is going to compliment the pants that you have on..meaning if you do some jeans, you could do a pair of Chuck Taylor's. and for your khaki's a nice pair of lace up boots would really give the look the dressy quality that it needs. As you can see it doesn't take much to make a blazer this bold look good; what really matters is that you keep the rest of the look simple and crisp allowing the blazer to do what it needs to for the outfit..which is, pull it together.

Trey-Songz-GQ-March-2012-Spring

Moving right along, we wanted to show you fellas that if you want to incorporate turquoise into your wardrobe subtly you are able to do so. Just check out Trey to the right. He has on a light knit sweater with turquoise stripes on it, over top of that he has on a tan modern fit blazer. For bottoms, he has on some salmon colored cargo shorts really allowing the color on the sweater to top. He's wearing turquoise, moderately but it is just enough to really allow the outfit to draw attention.

Here are some similar tops that give off just enough color to set you apart from others:

Finally, we want you guys to take a look at how these gentlemen put together some outfits with the color turquoise. Not saying that we want you all to completely take their looks, rather take some inspiration and make it your own. As always remember to keep it simple and you can never go wrong. Regardless what your outfit looks like, if you know that you look good in it..you'll be able to convince others that you're confident in your look.

We hope you all enjoyed the post, stay tuned!! Leave comments & questions below!
