Summer Series 2: Colorblock for the Summer

Okay ladies....since we did a summer print last week, we're going to switch again and do a summer color. For this post though....we're not doing a specific color...We're doing to do Color-block looks...which is always hot for the summer. We'll show you how to achieve a few looks without necessarily buying an item that is already color-blocked.

Look Number 1....

comes from Camilla. She is seen to the left in a color-block outfit. She paired a loose-fitting purple top with a pair of emerald green pants. Then she threw an orange blazer over it and accessorized her outfit with gold earrings, a gold belt, and green heels.
We'll use this look as an example to get a casual color-block look.
Okay...so start out with this pair of Coral Vibrant Skinny Ankle Jeans that were featured in Saturday's Blazer Post. For the top...go ahead and put on this Soft Racerback Tank in the Turquoise color. You can wear those two alone, but if you wanted to put something over it..try this Fab Basic Cardigan in the grey color for a subtle look or if you want to be bold...go ahead and do the yellow. For shoes, try to do a printed flat similar to these Floral Springtime Oxfords. Keep your accessories simple and just do a pair of pearl or silver studs.

Moving right along to look number 2!

Look number 2 comes from Nicole Scherzinger. She is seen to the right wearing a light pink blouse with a bright purple, fitted skirt that really pops against the light color. For shoes, she went the very subtle route and did a pair of nude booties. She accessorized it with a necklace, earrings, and bracelet.
This would be considered dressy-causal. So to get a dressy-casual color-block look similar to Nicole's, start out with this Royal Blue Knit Bandage Skirt. Try this Fuchsia Studded Front Knit Top and throw on a pair of Nude Platform Pumps. For accessories, do both this  Yellow/Gold Vibrant Floral Bracelet and Lime/Blue Peacock Bracelet and then a pair of studs.

For the last look....we're going to steal a dressy color block look from Leona Lewis....It seems as though color block is her thing!!

So she is seen to the left wearing a royal blue skirt and a yellow bow top. Then she just wore some nude pumps and didn't really accessorize it, but it still looks FAB!

To get a similar look to Leona's....without doing the same exact pieces...start out with this Royal Blue Bodycon Cage Dress and then throw this Coral Longline Open Blazer. Then add another pop of color by doing these Lime Green Almond Toe Pumps. Accessorize the outfit with this Wild Safari Bangle and just a pair of gold studs to keep it simple.

Well ladies....we hope we gave you some helpful insight on some different ways and ideas to color-block your outfits besides just buying an already color-blocked item. Feel free to leave some questions and comments!
