Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day

"Never, never, never, never give up." -Winston Churchill

We chose this quote because it's simple and right to the point, never give up. Whatever dreams/goals you have, don't give up on them...ever. No matter if it gets hard and you want to quit, keep on pushing and you will achieve it in due time.

Motivational Monday!

We're back!! And this week; even though it is the middle of the day, we want to start you off with something to really keep you inspired. We realize that this year is winding down and the holidays are soon approaching, however that does not mean that you should start to slack off! In turn, this is your time to put in all your effort and strength so that when those holidays do approach you can truly relax and not think of school or work and how you could have done better. So we will leave you with a quote and hopefully you'll pull something out of it to really keep you inspired throughout the week!

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

What we take want you to take from this is to keep working hard, and NOT to give up because all your good will eventually pay off! We hope you have an amazing week and continue to check back all this week we're coming full force with post this week! =)

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Be preparedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd" - Scar from Lion King

Hey guys we wanted to do a Motivational Monday quote on preparedness for today's post. What we went with is simple...just simply be prepared for anything, whether good or bad. We know Mid-Terms are coming up so we thought it would be an appropriate subject to touch upon. If you have test or assignments to do...try not to wait until the last minute to do them so you won't be stressed out. Prepare and study hard and then just do your best. We are preparing for our Breast Cancer awareness fashion show, Fashion's Night to Fight, coming up on the 28th, and it does require a lot. A lot of patience, practice, business skills, time, organization, creativity, etc...more than one may think. So whatever you have coming up that you need to prepare for, start planning now!

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Success doesn't come to you, you go to it." - Marva Collins

We chose this quote to motivate you guys on the topic of success. We know school is getting tough and midterms are coming up...but just keep working hard at it. In order to be successful, you have to "go to it"/work towards it. You can't expect everything to be easy and come to you without working hard towards your goals. As tough times come along in work and school just remember, your hard work will pay off.

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Leadership is the challenge to be something more than average." -Jim Rohn

We chose this quote because we wanted to motivate you as well as ourselves to be leaders. What we got from this quote is that a leader takes the challenge to do more than someone that will sit back and be average. Whatever you are good at, try to be a leader at it and motivate others to do the same.

Motivational Monday: Keeping the Faith

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20 (NIV)

We felt as though this bible verse ties right in to what many may be going through in many areas of their life. In in this instance we are referring to doubt, uncertainty, fear...Since we gear this blog towards our college aged students, we think that this verse can help you through these upcoming test, papers, mid-terms, etc... What it means is that if you have the slightest bit of faith in something you will be able to accomplish it. No matter, how big or small that test, paper is..if you have faith that you will succeed in that area of your life you have nothing to worry about. So we say that to say this: Keep your faith strong throughout troubled times and you'll be bound to see some amazing things happen for you!

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"If you can't be content with what you have received, be thankful for what you have escaped."

We chose this quote to help get the week started in a positive way. If you can't be thankful and happy with what you have received this far in life...at least take a minute to be thankful for the circumstances that you have escaped. Everyone has been through something, got through it, and/or will get through it. So be thankful for your delivery out of a situation before and afterwards.

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today" -James Dean

We chose this quote because we thought it fit today perfectly. It's beautiful outside and we have a day off from work/class. So live in the moment...enjoy this day. Also...this is something that you should think about everyday. Dream and be ambitious as if you'll live forever and seize the moment today.

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Progress always involves taking risks. You can't steal second base and keep your foot on first." - Frederick B. Wilcox

We chose this quote because we thought it would fit perfectly with what we are trying to do. If you were at On One Accord yesterday you would know that we are having a fashion show this October for Breast Cancer Awareness and funding for a cure. We decided to take a risk and go out on a limb to make this event happen. If you know us we are pretty shy/quiet people but we figured in order to make something happen and achieve your goals you have to take a risk and step outside your comfort zone. We hope that more of you guys sign up/come out to help us make this event successful in our journey to fight for this specific cause! :-)

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Put your heart, mind, intellect, and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success." -Swami Sivananda

We chose this quote because we know classes started today for some and we wanted to give you some motivation as well as those who start class tomorrow. Make a promise to yourself  to put 100% effort in every assignment and activity that you do this semester/school year and we will as well. We promise to do our best to keep up the blog throughout the year and we have some things planned that we think you will enjoy! We know we didn't post last week but it won't happen again and thank you for sticking with us this far.

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." - Paul J. Meyer

We chose this quote because school starts in exactly a week. We wanted to motivate our blog readers and supporters to be productive this school year. Whatever you need to get done, get it done and do it well. Let this school year's goal be to commit to excellence, plan intelligently, and make a focused effort!

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."

When we read this quote our interpretation of it was that life will never be perfect and you can decide to dwell on all the imperfections in your life or you can choose to be happy by embracing all the things that have been great and looking beyond life's imperfections. Life is not easy, but it's what you do with it and what you make of it that matters.

Motivational Monday: Quote of the Day!

"I had to make my own living and my own opportunity...Don't sit down and wait for the opportunities to come; you have to get up and make them." -Madame C.J. Walker

What we got from this quote is that you can't wait around on opportunities to come to you, you have to make things happen yourself. If you just wait around on people to come to you with business deals or what not, you're going to let life and good opportunities pass you by. Anything worth having doesn't come easy so of course your dream opportunity will not come to you while you're sitting around, you have to work for it.

Motivational Monday

"The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually be afraid you will make one." -Elbert Hubbard

Everyone has their battles with fear of failure every now and again, but when it comes down to it...you can't let those fears win. When you are too scared to make a mistake or fail, you'll just be idle in life. Meaning, taking things too slowly and treading waters carefully. Live life! You only have one...so live it to the fullest and fulfill your purpose because you never know when you won't be able to.

Motivational Monday

"Everyday do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow." - Doug Firebaugh

We really like this quote and chose it because it's something that everyone should do to better themselves. Everyday do something that will make your life better for the future. Whether it is spiritually (read a scripture a day and apply it to your life) , physically (eat a healthy snack instead of cookies or chips), mentally (clear your mind by going on a walk or writing your thoughts/feelings down to "release them") , or financially (set back $20 a pay period for a "rainy day" fund)... try to do something today that will benefit tomorrow.

Motivational Monday

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. - 1Peter 4:10

We chose this scripture because it's basically what VintageMahogani. is ultimately about. We plan to make it more than just a blog and to actually give back to others. Just through the fashion blog alone we hope that we are actually teaching our viewers/readers about things so that they will ultimately be confident in themselves. This should be a scripture that everyone should try to live by. Whatever gift(s) you have been blessed with, use them to help one another somehow.
