Summer Series 2: Colors and Prints- Orange

As our summer series 2 continues..we did a print last week and now we're doing a color. So...judging from the title of the post, today's tip will be over the color orange. This is a color that is always appropriate for summer and can be found for the color of a number of different items. It sounds rather simple to incorporate an orange piece of clothing in your wardrobe, but we want to show you a few ways you can add more color to your outfits besides you pairing it with tan or jean material. Also... Excuse the tardiness on the post ladies... With that being said, let's hop right into today's post!

An orange top is pretty simple to throw into your wardrobe and can easily be paired with a pair of jeans or tan shorts/pants. But for this look, we're going to show you how to pair it with a few different options on bottoms. As seen to the right, Elle MacPherson has on an orange blouse, a pair of white pants, and tan wedges. As far as accessories, she just did a bangle on each arm and a pair of sunglasses.
To get a casual look with an orange top, start with this Orange Rebel Spirit Tank from Forever 21. This top will cater to this extremely hot weather and won't be that hot to wear. As far as pants, try something similar to this pair of White, High-Waist Cigarette Jeans from Urban Outfitters. For shoes, try adding color by doing these Lime Green Almond Toe Pumps from Charlotte Russe. As far as accessories go, you can do something like these Gold Classic Hoop Earrings and a bangle like this ---> Gold Snake Chain Bracelet and you're set!
For a dressy look with an orange top try this Gnarled Rosette Top then pair it with a skirt similar to this Royal Blue Ponte Puckered Stripes Skirt, both from Forever21. As far as shoes and accessories go, try these Nude Almond-Toe Pumps and do the same pair of Gold Classic Hoop Earrings and this Gold/Cream/Black ZigZag Stretchy Bracelet.

Moving along to dresses...Blake Lively is seen to the left in an orange, maxi dress. The material makes it a little on the dressy side but is a very easy look to achieve. For accessories, she did a bangle on one arm and a ring on the opposite hand of the bracelet.
To get a similar look while still making it your own, try something different like this Rust Knit Maxi Dress. Remove the belt that it comes with and try something like this Taupe Leatherette Belt. For shoes keep it simple and casual with this pair of Cream/Gold Sandals. Then do something similar to these pair of Gold Rhinestone Petal Studs and this  Vibrant Jagged Bracelet to add  color that pops against the rust color of the dress.
For a dressier look with an orange dress, try this Orange Retro Woven Dress . Pair it with something similar to this pair of Leopard Ruffle Peeptoe Booties or this pair of Leopard Platform Pumps , whichever ones you prefer. As far as accessories go...add some color that will pop against that orange dress in your bangle and do something similar to this Gold/Turquoise Bangle Set and keep the earrings simple by doing a pair of hoops like these Gold Textured Flats Hoops.

Now for orange bottoms...we're going to show/give you 3 different looks/tips!

For orange bottom look 1..we chose Ashely Tisdale in a pair of orange moon shorts. As seen below to the right, she paired her orange moon shorts with a white, graphic loose-fitting top and pair of flats. For accessories, she added more color to the outfit with a turquoise/jade collar necklace and a pair of sunglasses.
To get a similar look to Ashley's start with this pair of Rust Woven Shorts and pair it with this Tribal Print Crop Top with a turquoise cami layered underneath. For shoes...do something similar to these Cognac Platform Sandals and do this Paint the Rainbow Bangle Set and Gold Textured Flats Hoops for accessories . To do a dressier version of this outfit...try these Orange Lace Shorts w/Belt and replace the belt it comes with with a grey one similar to this Grey Leatherette Skinny Belt , then pair it with something similar to this Black/White Woven Abstract Spots Top. Then do a pair of grey or black pumps and some silver accessories.

For orange bottom look number 2...we chose LC in a very casual, cute outfit. She is seen to the left wearing an orange printed skirt that is belted with a tan belt. She paired it with a plain black tee and a pair of black flats. A rather simple outfit that can be easily achieved. To get a similar look to Lauren's but still making it your own, try this Rust colored Paperbag Skirt and replace the belt that it comes with a printed belt like this Floral Print Belt. Pair the skirt with a plain tee like this Teal Basic Round Neck Top and a simple pair of flats like these Oatmeal Canvas Wingtips. As far as accessories go... try either pair of those hoops  Gold Textured Flats Hoops or Gold Classic Hoop Earrings and a bangle set like this Geo Pop Bangles to add some more color!
The last look for orange bottoms comes from Rihanna, who is a constant feature on VintageMahogani. What can we say...homegirl is fly! Lol

For this look..we chose a picture of her wearing orange harem-like pants. To the right, Rih-Rih is seen wearing a pair of orange harem-like pants with a cropped, purple sweater. For shoes and accessories, she has on gold pumps, a bangle, and large gold hoops. To get a look similar to Rihanna's but not with the same exact items...start with this pair of Rust Knit Harem Pants. Pair it with this Cocoa/Black Tribal Crop Top and this pair of Nude Almond-Toe Pumps. For accessories you can do either pair of the gold hoops listed in the tips and then add some color to the outfit by doing something similar to this Gold/Turquoise Bangle Set.

Well ladies...we hope that we gave you some cute outfit ideas on incorporating orange in your wardrobe besides pairing it with the normal pair of jeans and/or tan bottoms! :-)

Summer Essential#2 for the ladies: Shorts

Last week we gave you summer essential #1, the summer dress, an extremely versatile and ESSENTIAL piece of clothing for the summer. This week, we're giving you summer essential #2 , shorts! Shorts are probably the most versatile piece of clothing one could own. We will be giving you tips on the different ways you can wear them and how to get the celebrity look but make it your own.

Tip 1: Denim Shorts

Out of all the looks we will show you, this one will probably be the easiest and cheapest to achieve, but it will still be very fashionable. Denim shorts are also the most versatile of all the shorts we will show you in today's post. They can be dressed up and down with ease with a quick change of casual shoes to a pair of heels!

To the left, Ciara is seen wearing a pair of cuffed denim shorts and a graphic, white v-neck tee. For shoes and accessories she did a pair of black lace-up combat boots, a silver necklace, and a few silver bangles. A very casual, yet stylish outfit that is easy and fast to achieve if you need to get dressed quickly.
You can still recreate this outfit if you don't have the same exact pieces, which we recommend anyway to kind of make it your own.
Start out with a pair of these Denim Black Fab Classic Cuffed Denim Shorts for only $10.50 from our favorite store, Forever 21. Then, you could do this Marvel Comics Striped Tank and layer a cami or tank underneath of a color that's not in the shirt to make it pop, like this Fab Knit Cami in Green . For shoes and accessories, try a pair of lace-ups similar to these Black Comrade Lace Up Combat Boots and keep it simple with just a pair of hoops and a bangle like these Large Gold Hoops and this Gold and Black Bamboo Bracelet.
To take this outfit on the dressy casual side, lose the green cami and layer the comics tank under this Short Sleeve Slub Knit Cardigan in Green. You can do the same cuffed shorts, but try them in the indigo color. For accessories, do these Turquoise Heart of Stone Studs and Brown/Gold Leopard Details Bangle Set for a pop of color and pattern. As far as shoes, just do a pair of simple pumps something similar to these Brown Faux Wood Platform Pumps.

Tip 2: Cargo Shorts

Cargo shorts are also really versatile too. They can be dressed down with a simple tank or graphic tee and sandals or dressed up with a chiffon- like material peasant top and a pair of pumps. In the picture above, LC  has on a cream, sheer peasant top with a camisole layered underneath and green/olive linen-cargo type shorts. This outfit would be great on a date or just a shopping trip with the girls.
A way you could recreate the outfit casually would be to start out with these Brown Drawstring Cargo Shorts from Charlotte Russe. Pair it with this Oatmeal Color Basic Racerback Tank and pair of these Gold Braided Thong Sandals. For accessories, you could this Gold/Turquoise/Brown Spirited Boho Necklace with the pair of Turquoise Heart of Stone Studs and Brown/Gold Leopard Details Bangle Set listed above.
To dress the cargo shorts up, try the same shorts in Olive and tuck in this Coral/White Edgy Stripes Top but let it relax over the drawstring; also, layer a tan camisole underneath since the shirt is a little thin. For shoes, do something similar to these Cognac/Brown Multi Buckle Strap Sandal Heels. As for accessories, do a pair of gold hoops like these Large Gold Hoops that were listed above in the first tip with this Tribal Swirls Bangle Set.

Tip 3: Dressy Shorts

Last but certainly not least, tip 3 comes from Queen B herself. She is seen in somewhat of a dressy outfit with silk-blend type shorts, an off the shoulder sweater top, and strappy pumps. For accessories, she layered multiple necklaces and then just did a simple watch.
To recreate this outfit, try it differently by starting with these Silk Self-Tie Tribal Shorts for print on bottom. For a blouse, do this White Woven Peasant Top with a Basic Camisole layered underneath in Jade to add a pop of color. For shoes do something similar to these Nude Color Block Pumps to add another pop of color while staying in the neutral color palette. For accessories, try the same simple Large Gold Hoops with this Brown/Gold Dainty Spring Bangle Set
If you want to do a pair of plain dressy shorts and print on top, you could do these Grey Crepe Tie Front Shorts from Agaci with this Black/Hot Pink Tribal Stripes Contrast Tank. For shoes and accessories you could do this pair of Black Color Block Pumps with these Silver Layered Hoop Earrings and Silver Textured Bangles.

As we said and you can see, shorts are very versatile and come in all different prints, materials, and lengths. We hope we gave you some helpful insight on something that you didn't already know and gave you some outfit ideas to look fashionable while keeping cool!
