Sweater in Winter: Men Edition!

Alright fellas, so it's Wednesday so that means it is your day for fashion tips. As you can see this week we are covering sweaters. Now we know that we have covered both, summer sweaters as well as cardigans but we want to give you a few others to work with when it gets cold like it is now. So continue reading to get some great sweater tips!

So first up is the shawl collared sweater. These are the ones with the extra fabric in the collar part of the sweater that can be pulled up, but normally worn folded down. They are very stylish as well as easy to wear. The shawl collared sweaters come either as a pullover or a button-up; and either way you wear it you'll be noticed.

So here we have Mr. T.I.P. wearing the button-up, cardigan version of the shawl collar. As you can see the rest of his outfit is pretty simple. However with the sweater added to this look, it takes his outfit to the next level. We're not really sure what shoes he had on but we think that either casual or dressy would be acceptable for this look. Also his accessories (heavy-framed glasses and chain) really add to the simplicity of the outfit. Just because he could of went overboard with a flashy chain or sun-glasses. All in all this look is simple and very attractive.

If you're wanting something similar all it takes is some dark washed jeans, a white v-neck, some shoes of your choice, and of course a shawl-collared sweater. To get this exact look, throw on some geek-chic glasses, a simple piece of neck jewelry and you're ready to go.
Dressing this look wouldn't be complicated at all! Put on some slacks or chino pants and you are ready to go to any event. Just remember to keep it simple.

And here we have Channing Tatum in the pull-over version of the shawl collar. He kept this look very clean with a cream sweater and a pair of white-tinted pants. We would say that this look is more on the dressy side, and we're thinking that a nice pair of oxfords, and depending on how cold it is a nice blazer would go great with this look. However if he were to dress it down, throwing on a jean jacket over the top with some white chuck taylor's would look GREAT! Just making sure to allow the sweater to make a statement is what you want to do. And the blazer over the top (preferably in a darker color) or jean jacket would allow a sweater such as this to stand out.

Next up we are going to look at the v-neck sweater. These are very popular sweaters for men and they are worn either very casually or dressed up. Which ever way you like to wear them is up to you, but we want to give you a few tips on cut and color choices.
Lance Gross, is seen here wearing a fitted cream sweater with a black trimmed v. He paired this amazing sweater with some khaki colored pants. For shoes it looks like he has on some black chuck taylor's but we're thinking black lace-up boots would be highly appropriate. He has on a nice sized watch, a few necklaces, and of course some glasses.

Now for some this cut of sweater may be too tight and too deep of a v for some, and we're not saying that this is the best fit for everyone. We do suggest that if you want to show off your pecks and arms that this is the style for you. Also if you are trying to elongate the top portion of your body a deeper v is what you want. Also as far as colors go, if you have a darker skin tone brighter/lighter colors tend to stand out against your skin tone; and if you have a lighter skin tone the deeper colors stand out on you.
Recreating would take very few steps. First off you want your v-neck sweater, we're thinking in this color  because it looks good on everybody. For pants try some of these, and for shoes we're thinking some lace-up boots for a causal look. Throw on an infinity scarf in a neutral color to go with the pants and not take away from the sweater.

Last but not least, we want you guys to give the printed sweater a try. They are definitely making a comeback and we think that they are very simple to style.

Drake was seen in his recent "Headlines" video wearing a Cosby, printed sweater. Of course we weren't so sure what he wore for pants and shoes but for this look we're thinking he went with a black dress pant with a nice pair of shoes. Just because of the glasses, ring, and watch read as dressy.

Doing something similar would take a nice vintage looking sweater**, some nice corduroy pants or jeans depending on which look you were going for and to top it off some dress shoes or sneakers. The best way to go with the printed sweater is simple, just because the sweater is going to be busy enough to where other colors and prints are not necessary.

** Thrift stores always have vintage sweaters, stop by one to save you some money!
