Summer Essential #3 for Men: Henley Shirts

Okay fellas, the summer essential series ends with today's post. From the title of the post, you should know that it will be over henley shirts. Henleys are collarless shirts that usually have 2 or more buttons at the top of them. Of course we're going to give you some pictures on examples on how they have been worn and tell you how to recreate the outfits!

All of the henley looks come from Matt Bomer in his photoshoot with GQ

For look number 1, Matt is seen to the left in a white, short-sleeve henley shirt and jeans. We can't see the shoes but we'll give you some ideas on how to wear them.
For starters, take this Pocket Henley Shirt in white.   and pair it with these Grey Jeans, both items from Urban Outfitters. For shoes do something involving color since the shirt is white and the jeans are grey. Try these Tree Espadrille Shoes also from Urban in the Red color or Navy.
If you wanted to do some color up top, take this  Green 2 Button Y-Neck Henley and of course unbutton it. For jeans, do this pair of Indigo Denim Jeans and this Brown Belt both from Urban Outfitters. For shoes, you can do something similar to these Khaki-Colored Keds or if you wanted to dress the henley up, try these Brown Double Bottom Moccasins

Moving right along to look number 2.....

In the picture to the right, Matt has on his henley shirt but decided to dress it up a bit with a cardigan. He again just went with a simple pair of denim jeans and it looks like a pair of brown lace-up boots.
To recreate something similar to this outfit, take this Blue and Charcoal Grey Striped V-Neck Henley and pair it with this plain Black Cardigan. Don't forget to roll those sleeves up since it's a little warm outside. Lol. For jeans you can do the same grey ones listed above in tip 1. As for shoes, try something similar to these Black Combat Boots. If you didn't want to do boots, you can always do something like this pair of Turquoise Vans . The last pair of shoes suggested would add some additional color to the outfit and leave you not feeling so hot since you already have a cardigan on.

Last but not least...look number 3. This henley was worn more on the dressy side as well. He has on a red and white varsity henley, with a pair of white pants, and what looks like brown boots.
To get a similar look without the same exact pieces, start out with this Navy/Red two tone henley. For bottoms, do a pair of these Chino Pants in light grey. For shoes, you can try these pair of White/Light Grey Oxfords  or these White/Blue Fred Perry Boat Shoes

As you notice, the post is pretty short due to the fact that henleys are a pretty easy thing to dress up and dress down. There wasn't a lot of explaining to do on this item. We hope we gave you a few outfit ideas that you liked in this post and that you go out and get them! Next week's tip will be enlightening so you should definitely stayed tuned! :-)
