Fall Essential Series: Essential 1!

Hey Ladies!!! We told you this series was coming and well....it's here....Our Fall Essentials Series!!! By the way this series will last approximately 7 weeks and will cover all the items needed to contribute towards a fashionable fall wardrobe. So...let's get into it!!

Fall Essential 1: The Cardigan!

Now we put the cardigan as a part of our Back to School Essentials- Layers post but we didn't cover it as thoroughly as we will today.

  • Cardigans are one of the most versatile items that one can own because of the effortlessness it takes for an outfit to go from casual to dressy with just a throw on of a cardigan.
  • They're a layer that can provide warmth while still providing style because we know some jackets and sweaters can be bulky and mess up an outfit.
  • It can be the very thing that will make an outfit/polish it off
  • They come in many different styles like the boyfriend fit cardigan (reminds you of your boyfriend's cardigan and fits a little big but does still cater to a woman's body), a crop cardigan, or just a regular cardigan.
  • They also come in many different colors and prints like cheetah, tribal, and stripes.

With that being said....we'll show you some celebrities in cardigans and how to get the same look for less!

For this post, Kim Kardashian is providing us with a casual cardigan look.

She is seen to the left in a plain white tee with a pair of cuffed distressed jeans. For shoes she put on a pair of tan caged Louboutins and kept her accessories simple with a red and gold spiked bangle and silver watch. She polished the outfit with a pink open front, shawl- like cardigan.

We really liked this look because the outfit was simple and cute without the cardigan but she added another element with the pink cardigan.

To get a similar look while making it your own, add a print!

Option 1: Start with this Raw Edge V-Neck Tee in yellow and put it under this Navy/Black Leopard Burnout Open Cardigan. For bottoms and shoes you can do this pair of Cuffed Distressed Baggy Boyfriend Jeans and these Black Suedette Booties. To accessorize the outfit, you can do something like this pair of Red/Gold Heart Studs and this Gold Pyramid Spiked Bracelet

Option 2: Start this White/Black "Glee" Graphic Tee and put this Red Open Front Sweater Cardigan over it. For jeans do these Black Ripped Mid-Rise Skinnies and finish the outfit with this pair of Brown/Black Leopard Print Wedge Booties. To complete the look just do a pair of simple gold studs and the same Gold Pyramid Spiked Bracelet listed above.

Moving on to another cardigan look!

Okay for the second look, we went with this picture of Jessica Alba to the right. She has on a maroon cardigan with a black tank underneath. She paired the cardigan and tank with a pair of belted gray, trouser shorts, black knee-high socks, and a pair of fall boots. She kept her accessories simple and just did a pair of silver hoops.

To get a similar look to Jessica's start with this pair of Brown Herringbone Pattern Shorts and put this Mustard Extended Basic Tank and Maroon Classic Solid Cardigan with it. As far as legwear put on these Navy Herringbone Knit Tanks and for shoes you can do this pair of Brown/Black Leopard Print Wedge Booties. To accessorize the outfit you can do this Antic Gold/Turquoise Italian Horn NecklaceGold Pyramid Spiked Bracelet, and a pair of simple gold studs.

Lastly....a Dressy-Casual Cardigan Look...

Seen to the left, Lo from Laguna Beach and The Hills has on a plain white tee, green tulip-hem skirt, and a pair of tan flip-flops. She polished/ finished the look with a navy/white striped cardigan and a tan belt to tie in the shoes.

We like the color combination in this outfit and how the fit of the items that she has on flows well.

To get a similar look start out with this Burgundy Bandage Mini Skirt and pair this White Knit Tank and Black/Tan/Green Striped Cardigan with it. For shoes, do this pair of Brown/Rust Contrast Leatherette Oxfords and accessorize the outfit with this Large Gold Hoops and this Antic Gold/Blue Basketweave Bracelet

Well ladies we hope that you got a few outfit ideas that you can really see yourself wearing and you learned the awesomeness (LOL) of The Cardigan. Feel free to leave us a few comments!!
