To the right, we have Spike Lee wearing a fitted hat, with the bill flipped up. These were seen a lot during the 80's and if you can think back to some of the outfits that Fresh Prince used to wear, these hats were a common accessories in a few of his outfits. Along with the hat, Spike Lee has on the large rimmed geek-chic glasses; something that we feel really brings this whole look together.
Considering that both of these pieces are accessories, if you wanted to wear them together, such as spike did, they would work great together. As far as the rest of the outfit goes, you could keep it simple and do a colored v-neck and some jeans; or you can take it to the next level and wear a graphic tank and some colored skinny jeans. Check out the links to get a visual example of what you can wear with these two pieces.
Outfit 1: v-neck, woven shorts, sneakers, hat, and glasses
Outfit 2: graphic tank, colored jeans, high tops, and hat (link to properly flip up the bill)
As you know, both Jay-Z and Pharrell are very well dressed men. In this photo here, you can see that they took some pieces that have been around for years. Jay-Z has on a fitted graphic sweatshirt, while Mr.Williams has on a lightly distressed jean jacket. Thinking back to the 80's, the graphic sweatshirts and jean jackets were very popular back then; and as you can see it is not difficult to bring these pieces into your wardrobe now and make them work.
Both of the outfits can be achieved fairly easily. Also, it would not take much to take what they have on and twist it to make it your own. Below, we have picked out a few pieces that are very similar to what they have on. We also have given you an alternate example of how you can wear your fitted sweatshirt; just look below at Drake in his Army inspired outfit. He has on the sweatshirt, as well as the camo pants that those in service wear.
Jay-Z: Sweatshirt, Distressed Jeans, and Jordans
Pharrell: Jean Jacket, Cotton Tee, Pants, and boots(kinda pricey..=\ ).
Drake: Sweatshirt, Camo Pants, and Jordans.
